You are cordially invited to the Democracy Under Fire Conference, Keokuk Peace Letters, May 23-27, 2022, in Northfield, Minnesota
With the world in a constant state of turmoil, Eastern Europe, and especially Ukraine needs our active support.
During our conference time together, we will explore topics such as
· How can we develop new concepts to strengthen democracy in Eastern Europe?
· How can we help with the rebuilding of Ukraine?
· How can we support the millions of Ukrainian refugees?
· The holocaust in Ukraine, Eastern Europe and its aftermath, including the notion of Zeitenwende, a new epoch, & Vergangenheitsbewältigung, coming to terms with the past. A continuing hot topic in Germany & the United States.
· The timeless Keokuk Peace Letters, 1931/32 through 2022, can help us to reach a deeper understanding of how to work on innovative concepts.
Additionally, we will be given opportunities to make meaningful connections with a worldwide community, receive international insights on national issues, and work for world peace with other progressive individuals.
At our conference in idyllic Northfield, Minnesota, you will be able to experience all the amenities of small-town America, including two prestigious colleges, a vibrant downtown and all that you might need within walking distance. Our informative panels will take place at Reunion Restaurant and Event Center in downtown Northfield, with an intimate setting for your conference experience provided by Fairfield Inn and Suites (by Marriot) and motels in Northfield.
